SIGNS OF ABUSE
Your partner humiliates and yells at you.
Sees you as property rather than a person, belittles and controls you.
Criticizes you and puts you down. Blames you for their abusive behaviour.
Treats you so badly you're embarrassed for friends and family to see.
Hits You.
Hurts You.
WHAT THE DATA SHOWS
Every six days, a Canadian woman is killed by her intimate partner.
Fifty-nine percent of abused women delay leaving a violent relationship out of fear for their pet's safety.
On any given night, more than 6,000 Canadian women and children sleep in shelters because home is not safe.
Children who witness
violence at home are twice as likely to experience psychiatric disorders as kids from non-violent homes.
